Printed Vinyl Billboard Specifications

Procedure for building print files for 150 dpi Billboard using Photoshop.

  1. Set up canvas at full-size CMYK:
    10’x30’ 120” x 360” Canvas
    12’x40’ 144” x 480” Canvas
    10’x36’ 120” x 432” Canvas
    14’x48’ 168” x 576” Canvas

*If you want to include bleed, add 2” to each side.
    *Set resolution to 18 dpi
  2. Design your creative. Imported images should be at least 300 dpi. If you are putting on bleed, be careful not to put important information too close to the edges, as it might be “cut off” during installation. Also take into consideration any frames or structures that might interfere with the “live-area”.
  3. When your design is completed re-check your size and bleed. Select any blacks and convert to 60% Cyan 60% Magenta 60% Yellow 100% Black and select any PMS colors. Flatten if necessary (if you feel there may be future changes, it is acceptable to send a “layered file”). View at actual pixels to review quality.
  4. Save files as .tif .psd or .pdf. Do not use any compression. Include a hard copy, or .jpeg proof for proofreading and color matching.
  5. Please keep extensions to a height of no more than 24”.  If you need to extend beyond that, please consult your sales representative.
  6. If you are printing with us, please use the File Upload Instructions on the website.  If you are not, please ensure that your printing company uses the 2” bleeds and 4” pockets.
